Another Stupid Dream of Mine (One World One Dream)

Though i’m not a fan of sports, I watched the opening ceremony of Olympic Beijing 2008 and one thing crossed my mind :

I WANT TO BE PART OF THE OLYMPIC GAMES !!

I want to be the flag bearer, or one of the athletes, or one of the performers, or one of the jumping and dancing crowds. or even better the one who lights the torch (particularly, the ‘running in the air’ man).

Beijing 2008 will definitely  become the biggest Olympic games ever. It’s just totally rocks and it almost brought me to tears.

 

David ‘CRUSH’ Archuleta

David Archuleta, the runner up of American idol season 7 has just (unofficially) released his first single entitled CRUSH.

So, how’s the song ?

Since I am not into his nasally voice, so I think this single is just OK. Honestly, It’s somewhat a mediocre teenager song which has some sort of Miley Cyrus’ vibe .

Overall, it’s nothing special. However, if you want to know whether David is still doing his thing, then this song could be your answer.

The Next Chapter Begins NOW !

I just passed the thesis exam and what left is to revise the thesis.

I really want to be a lecturer, but my lecturer said that Petra is already oveloaded with lecturers.

I cannot think about looking for a job right now, It’s just too much to think about.

I need some time to breathe and think about my future.

I believe in miracles and I believe if HE wants me to be a lecturer, then I will be someday.

The bottom line :

I am not really looking forward to ‘the next chapter’.

David Cook is Cookin’ !!

Yaaaayyyyy !!! David Cook is the new American Idol !

As yahoo news reported :

“Cook, 25, who was tending bar and playing in a band before he auditioned for the singing competition, stood back to applaud rival David Archuleta, 17, and then bent over crying after host Ryan Seacrest said he had won by 12 million votes.”

I was afraid last night when Cook could not deliver some killer tunes. I thought that Archuleta (along with his annoying and shrieking fans) might win the idol. Anyway, both are great singers and I’m happy that this season ends like this. One thing bothering me though, since Cook and Daughtry have similar style. Daughtry, despite the fact that he did not win the idol, has become an idol in his own way. Will Cook become Daughtry in term of  his success or will he end up like the other ‘not-so-popular’ winners (excluding Carrie Underwood and Kelly Clarkson) ??

The judges were true anyway. This season is definetely the best season ever (except, that Kristy whatchamalit). I really hope to hear some tunes from Michael Johns, Ramiele Malubay, and maybe Carly Smithson. See you again on January Simon, Paula, and Randy. I will never forget this season since my thesis is based on this season (Maybe I’m the only person in indonesia who uses AI as a topic). I really hope that I can watch AI again next year !

Damn, It’s kinda suck to know that Idol has ended. Especially, because I can’t attend the idol summer tour.

I WANT IDOL ! I CAN’T WAIT FOR ANOTHER YEAR !!

IRONMAN, Classy Not Cheesy

I have a thesis to finish, yet I couldn’t resist the tempation of watching another Superhero movie, IRONMAN. 

Thus, I bring myself to the newly opened Cinema XXI at Tunjungan Plaza.

Here’s some thought about the movie :

1. Very classy superhero movie. Forget about the poor and geeky Peter Parker or Clark Kent, it’s time for the billionaire Tony Stark.

2. I never liked Gwyneth Paltrow before, but I kinda like her now since her character is not the damsel-in-distress type (at least she’s not abducted).

3. A sequel ? absolutely ! There are so many hints about a sequel. First, James Rhodes line as he looks into the armor ? (that’s soo War Machine) Second, Samuel L Jackson as Nick Fury at the credits ? (too bad I left early) Third, unresolved love ? And so on …

4. IRONMAN is a combination between Fantastic Four and somewhat a war movie. It is fun and exciting (forget about a rich superhero who spends his life in a cave with bats). It is classy but not cheesy (forget about that red underwear that Superman has).  

5. Robert Downey Jr. is great as the rich and cocky Tony Stark. Never knew him before, but he gets my attention from now on.

6. Definitely, my favorite superhero movie after Fantastic Four.
